Stuttgart Evening Market 2016

For date night we decided to go downtown and take part in a weekly event during the summer here in Stuttgart. Every year, there is an evening market set up with different international foods, crafts, and dancing. We were pretty excited to go and check it out. This week featured the food of Spain complete with Flamenco dancers.

On a side note, I finally got my own pair of sunglasses. I think James was all too happy when I started looking at them. Pretty cute though right?

As if we were unskilled in adventure, we left for downtown in the middle of rush hour... Palm to face right here... It was nice though getting all that uninterrupted time to just talk and check in with each other.

Some of the yummy tapas we had. Looks like a quesadilla but it isn't. I honestly have no clue what it was besides yummy.

My favorite part!!! I loved all the dancing and the music. 

It was a pretty good and inexpensive time (grand total was 15 euros). We may check it out again in a couple weeks. 

Summer in Germany is proving to be ALMOST as good as the Christmas Season.

Spring Festival 2016

Back at Christmas time I talked about how everything seems to be celebrated in Germany. Of course the arrival Spring is no different here. We partook in the local fun of Spring Festival. Three weeks of markets, food, beer tents, and rides galore. So basically like a State Fair. It was so much and fun and amusing to be there. Spring Festival really ramps you up for the warm sunny days to come and all outdoor activities that will start to take place. The day we went was one where James’ crazy schedule really paid off. On a Monday evening you basically have the entire event to yourself!!! This is how you do the festivals.

Exploring Our Backyard

James has been here since June and it has been a little over a month for me. It was about time we went to explore life outside the gates.

Since we live here we didn’t pack too much into our day. We spent the afternoon around and inside the Altes Schloss. The castle had a wonderful temporary exhibit honoring Christoph Duke of Württemberg. This marks the 500th anniversary from when he became duke of the area.

Many of you probably haven’t even heard of this guy. Don’t worry we hadn’t either till we went. His biggest claim to fame was unifying the Protestant Reformation for this area. In school I only ever learned about the Reformation going on in England so this was very informative to me.
